BFF SAL 20... done

I've enjoyed this mini stitch,  and yippee no backstitch!!

I have enough thread to do it again but not really sure i want to do so. Thread has been placed in the random box. 

I think likely some random stitching for a bit, till we decide what to pull out next.

BFF SAL 20 - odd colours

There was a bit of natter around the colour choices in this cover kit... not sure that the luminous almost neon orange goes with the pink.

So much so that I compared the kit with suggested threads, it's definitely more orange than the suggestion!!

I enjoyed the stitch a lot tonight, felt like we achieved a lot. One more week I think may suffice to finish this

That thread doesn't show its true brightness on a photo... just sayin'.

BFF SAL 20 - variety is the spice

I was craving more than just the blue colours this week, so i managed to bring in a little green and pink to balance out the blue work.

Oddly,  last week I felt like this wouldn't take the recommended timings, but this week I didn't feel like I was progressing so much. But then I look at photos and doubt that.  The main shape is starting to come through!

BFF SAL 20 - no fanfare here

Can't quite believe we're up to number 20 (and technically we did something twice so it might even count as 21 hahaha).

But no fancy fanfare or special projects here... just a nice simple cover kit cos it's where our respective brains are. 

It did give me chance to use the lovely thread sorter my BFF burned for me.  Splendiferous,  isn't she??

BFF SAL 19 - FFO

Got my off camera work done just in time despite a busy weekend schedule.. so i was ready to start backstitch.

And it didn't take long.. about half our session, to get to the end.

I like the sunflower,  I'm not overly sure about the writing,  although generally it's something I quite enjoy doing.  It looks almost 3 dimensional here!

BFF SAL 19 - the flower starts to bloom

After a week away in the fabulous Scottish Highlands,  it was great to be back stitching with my BFF. 

Got the centre finished,  as well as a reasonable start on the petals.

One or two more weeks to a finish?  What do you think?

BFF SAL 19 - come to the Dark Side, we have cookies!

This currently resembles a chocolate cookie with writing!

Our technology was being hit and miss tonight so at times we lost track of discussion and had to revisit, but it's always good to catch up and spend some time together,  even in virtual capacity. 

We're quite enjoying the freedom and simplicity offered by our cover kit collections.

BFF SAL 19 - When is a yellow not a yellow?

A new start, a kit again by our old favourite Durene Jones. 

Tell me what colour you see at the bottom left of this picture. The artist would disagree with me... humph. It's supposedly light orange.  It's ruddy yellow,  people!!

Thankfully the shades were easy distinguished,  whatever their name.

Gifted Gorgeousness May 2025

This gift has been a long time in the making, and also some time awaiting a finish. 

My BFF got me this several years ago, of which she has no memory LOL. 

The corner join of the cord is at perhaps a slightly jaunty angle.  But I'm rather pleased with the finish overall especially the tassel.

And here it is before finishing for comparative size against our mini version from the cover kit pattern

It's rather nice to have a proper finish.
