The People Chose... embellishments

The title this month caught my eye as I've just had an embellished finish, this freebie from Durene Jones. 

It did make me look back and think about other things embellished,  like a decorated hat for a Mad Hatters Tea Party with my BFF.

Or this cover kit I completed a couple of years back with the snowflake charm. 

Sometimes it's just fun to revisit old photos in this way, to remind ourselves of the bits and pieces we have worked on along the way.

2 FFOs, 1 new start and a new place to Be

We didn't feel quite up to our next start on BFF SAL  12 (and indeed we had a bit of fun going back to work out what they'd all been!)

So some random bits.  I started this cover kit back in September 2021 and finally finished just before our Skype this week,  so it counts!

Finished the cross stitch during the week on this freebie from Durene Jones,  and last night added a Button as a charm.

And made a start on a Christmas themed mini stitch to be better prepared for the Hop.

Thankfully my cold finally left me,  sadly I apparently managed to pass it to hubbyman,  poor fella.

Oh! Almost forgot about the other bit.... I have a new chair for my craft room!  Very glad to finally have it in place!

A 'Quiet' Finish - BFF SAL 11

Those final couple of weeks have been creeping up on us... mind you, you may understand better some of the delays when you see the personalisation journey my BFF has been on for this one!!

With a bit of help from my BFF to remove a cat from the rug,  I pushed straight through to FFO and frame this immediately,  some projects just demand that quick action.  I'm very happy to have managed a bit of blue hair.  The designs are called Cosy and Quiet by Durene Jones, from a magazine article. We decided that the couch one with quilt/hoop stitches looks Cosy, so mine here must be Quiet.

I've been feeling rough with cold this week, so no full session tonight, but long enough to show and tell our respective finishes! Oh, we did laugh hard tonight, but my post can only hint cryptically at why till you check out my BFFs progress here

The Cat and the Pumpkin - BFF SAL night off

Tonight we were in mutual agreement that we needed a break from the personalisation journey that our 'Relax' SAL has become,  much as we're enjoying it, it doesn't make for a chilled night.

So my offering is a small Halloween piece by Durene Jones,  free on her Facebook page. Lots of black to come yet but the outlines are very clear.

My BFFs update may be somewhat delayed as she's having some IT repairs done.  Check here to keep an eye out.

BFF SAL- other things took over

Not a lot to show for tonight's efforts... a little backstitch only.

Lots more time spent finishing off my Easter piece which you'll see on the Easter Blog Hop on Friday.   And a little bit started on a cover kit when I realised that I'm now struggling to backstitch and talk at the same time.   So that will be done off-skype as it were.

Good time nattering and talking jobs and IT and password management though.

BFF SAL 11 - plant theft

I had a plan for this week.. to do something with the part-formed pot on the left.

I spent a lot of time over the week experimenting with alternatives for behind the chair.  Then realised that what I originally liked about this design was the open, airy feel.  And filling in that space would have taken that away.  So out came the planned mirror and picture frame.

But as the giant ?cheese plant? (Not sure) from my original still didn't appeal, I stole the plant from my BFFs pattern and kept it in my own pot.

My BFF has had many amendments,  some of which are remaining quiet I believe for now!  Check out the bits she's sharing here
